Every configurator project is different. Our process is designed to understand what you need, prove the approach early and give you a clear, fixed price before we commit to the full build.
We start with a conversation about your products, customers and what you want your configurator to achieve.
We'll discuss your requirements, ask questions and explore the best approach for your project. At this stage, we're looking to understand the overall scope and complexity rather than define every detail.
Based on our discussion, we'll provide an initial quotation so you can understand the likely scope and cost before committing to anything.
We then carry out a focused discovery phase to understand your products, configuration rules, user experience, technical requirements and any external systems the configurator needs to integrate with.
We'll use this understanding to build a small working prototype that demonstrates the proposed approach and tests the key technical challenges.
The Prototype & Discovery phase typically costs 15% of the estimated project cost. This is paid at the start of the engagement and is deducted from the final project price if you proceed with the full build.
Once the prototype is complete, we'll have a clearer understanding of the requirements, technical approach and scope, allowing us to provide a final fixed-price quotation for the remainder of the project.
This gives you something tangible to evaluate before committing to the full build, while ensuring the project starts with a clear understanding of what's required and how it will be delivered.
Once you've approved the project, we begin development of the full configurator. A 25% upfront payment is required at the start of the build, with the remaining balance due on completion.
The configurator front-end is typically built as a static website using standard web technologies. This keeps the solution fast, secure and straightforward to host and integrate with your existing website.
Where a back-end is required, we typically use serverless Cloudflare technologies, providing a highly performant and reliable solution while keeping ongoing hosting costs to a minimum.
We'll work with you throughout development to make sure the configurator behaves as expected and delivers the agreed functionality.
Once the configurator is complete, we'll help get it ready for launch. If required, we can assist with integrating the configurator into your existing website or migrating it to suitable hosting.
The remaining 60% of the project fee is payable on completion, bringing the total payment structure to approximately 15% for the prototype, 25% upfront for the full build, and 60% on completion.
And our involvement doesn't have to end at launch.
Support and future improvements can be carried out on an ad-hoc basis, with no ongoing contract required. If you'd prefer dedicated ongoing technical support, we can also set up a support agreement tailored to your needs.
Whether you need a small change or ongoing development, we're available to help keep your configurator running and evolving with your business.
